This product is a single-panel, home-testing device that lets people test their urine in the privacy of their own homes for the compounds found in synthetic cannabis (otherwise known as K2 or Spice). These compounds are JWH-018, JWH-073, JWH-210, JWH-398, and MAM2201.
Being discrete and reliable, these K2/Spice test strips enable individuals to test for synthetic marijuana at the same toxin levels set by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The cut-off levels established by SAMHSA are as follows:
Urinate into a clean, sterile plastic/glass container.
Remove the testing device from the sterile foil pouch.
Dip the end of the testing strip into the urine specimen, ensuring that the arrow is pointing toward the urine sample. Do not immerse the test strip beyond the indicated maximum line.
Leave the test strip immersed in the urine sample until a reddish color appears in the test area (approximately 15- 20 seconds).
Remove the test strip and place it down face up on a non-absorbing surface.
The results will be available after 5-10 minutes. Note that the displayed results may become inaccurate after 10 minutes.
Interpreting the results:
There are three possible outcomes for the testing device:
POSITIVE: A fail
A color band appears in the Control Zone ("C"), but no band appears in the Test Zone ("T"). A positive result indicates that the concentrations of the metabolites JWH-10 and/or JWH-73 in the sample are above the cut-off levels established by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
NEGATIVE: A pass
Two color bands appear: one in the Control Zone ("C") and one in the Test Zone ("T"). A negative result indicates that the concentrations of metabolites JWH-10 and/or JWH-73 in the sample are below the cut-off levels established by the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
No colored band appears in the Control Zone ("C"). An invalid result like this may be due to an improper testing procedure or a deterioration of the kit. Repeat the test using a new testing device.
